How to enable rewards prepay and add funds

Turn on rewards prepay in Settings, Rewards, Funding in the Matter web app and add funds by ACH, wire or card so approved rewards draw from the balance.

Written by Brett Hellman

To turn on rewards prepay, open Settings, Rewards in the web app, choose Prepay as the Funding Method and click Save, then click Add Funds to fund your balance by ACH, wire transfer or card.

Who can use this: Workspace Owners and Admins on the Pro and Enterprise plans, or on any plan during the free trial. Works the same for Slack and Microsoft Teams workspaces.

By default, approved reward requests are charged to your credit card, which includes processing fees. To avoid this fee and reduce frequent credit card transactions, you can prepay for rewards by adding funds to a rewards balance (the Funding page in Settings, Rewards). Invoicing options (e.g., ACH/wire transfer) are available with Prepay.

How to Enable Rewards Prepay

  1. Open the Web App.

  2. Go to Settings, then the Rewards section.

  3. Select Funding Method: Choose Prepay from the available options and click Save.

Last Step: Sending Funds to Fund Account Balance

That's it, Prepay is now enabled. If you haven't already, now would be a good time to fund your account balance by clicking the "Add Funds" button. Matter will send you a message in Slack or Microsoft Teams when your account balance drops below your Balance Alert Threshold.

Important Note

If you are actively using Matter Rewards at your company, consider adding funds to your account balance before enabling Prepay to avoid any disruptions. Adding funds to your Matter account balance can take up to five business days, sometimes longer. You can add funds using ACH or wire transfer, with wire transfer being much faster, or by credit card with a 3.5% fee.
