Understanding how rewards are billed in Matter helps you manage your reward budget effectively. Matter offers flexible funding methods to fit your needs.

Choose the best option to optimize your reward process and avoid unnecessary fees. Below, we outline the available billing options for gift cards, charitable donations, and prepaid cards, plus key considerations for each.

Option 1: Prepay - Rewards Account Balance

To avoid the fees mentioned above and reduce frequent credit card transactions, you can prepay for rewards by funding a Rewards Account Balance. When Prepay is enabled, there are no fees each time an Admin approves a reward request. Here is an article where you can

  • 0% Fee = Send ACH or Wire Transfer from your Bank

  • 3.5% Fee = Prepay with your Credit Card

Option 2: Pay-As-You-Go - Credit Card on File

By default, Pay-As-You-Go is enabled. Each time an Admin approves a reward request, the credit card on file will be charged for the reward.

The cost of the reward is the face value of the gift card, donation, or prepaid card, plus a 5% and a $0.35 per transaction fee to cover payment processing fees.

Custom Rewards

There is no cost associated with custom company rewards because companies are responsible for their own delivery of the reward.
