Understanding how rewards are billed in Matter helps you manage your reward budget effectively. Matter offers two flexible funding methods to fit your needs. Choose the best option to optimize your reward process and avoid unnecessary fees. Below, we outline the available billing options and key considerations for each.

Gift Cards + Charitable Donations

Pay-As-You-Go: Credit Card on File

These rewards in Matter are billed based on the selected funding method for your account.

By default, each time an Admin approves a reward request, the company credit card on file will be charged for the reward. This means you don't prepay for coins.

The cost of the reward is the face value of the gift card or charitable donation, plus a 3% transaction fee to cover automatic delivery fees.

For example, a $10 Amazon Gift Card will cost $10.30

Calculation: $10 + ($10 * 0.03) = $10.30

Prepay: Rewards Account Balance

To avoid the fees mentioned above and reduce frequent credit card transactions, you can prepay for rewards. When Prepay is enabled, there are no fees each time an Admin approves a reward request. Here is an article where you can learn how to enable Prepay for Rewards on Matter.

Custom Rewards

There is no cost associated with custom company rewards because companies are responsible for their own delivery of the reward.
