To ensure Matter remains available for your organization in Slack, it’s important to prevent unauthorized uninstallations within your Slack workspace. By default, Slack does not prevent unwanted app uninstallations. Follow the steps below to update your app permissions and prevent the Matter app from being mistakenly deleted.

Step-by-Step Guide

  1. Access Workspace Settings

    • Open the Slack desktop application.

    • Click your workspace name in the sidebar.

  2. Navigate to App Management

    • Hover over Tools & settings, then select Manage apps.

  3. Adjust App Approval Settings

    • Click App Management Settings in the left column.

    • Toggle the switch next to Require App Approval to enable it.

By enabling this setting, only your Slack workspace owners and the people you specify will have the ability to uninstall Matter from your Slack workspace. This helps ensure that Matter remains a consistent and valuable tool for your team.
