What are Celebrations?
Celebrations are birthdays and work/service anniversaries. These special dates come once a year and are the perfect opportunity to make team members feel appreciated.
Why Celebrations are Important
Many companies promote and organize celebrations for their employees because of the many benefits of regularly acknowledging accomplishments. Celebrating birthdays and work anniversaries can effectively boost morale, promote bonding, and inspire fun in the workplace.
Why Celebrations with Matter
With Matter, you'll never miss a celebration. All you have to do is get the dates to Matter, and the rest is done for you! Here's how we streamline your celebration experience:
Automatically Collect Dates: You can enable Matter to ask for birthday and/or work anniversary dates from employees. This self-serve, optional method is perfect for birthdays. You can also auto-sync dates with your HRIS platform.
Advanced Customizations: A few advanced settings include custom coin amounts for specific years of service and the ability to celebrate a Saturday/Sunday celebration on the previous Friday - during the work week.
Celebrated in Slack and Microsoft Teams: Celebration messages are automatically sent in Slack or Microsoft Teams.
How Celebrations Works
Automatic Celebration Messages
All you have to do is get the celebration dates to Matter, and they'll be automatically sent inside Slack or Microsoft Teams. Three ways to add in dates:
Have Matter automatically collect the dates for you, making it self-serve optional - ideal for birthdays.
Upload dates via Excel file - ideal for work anniversaries.
HRIS Integration: Automatically sync the dates with your HRIS platform.
Adding Coins to Celebrations
You can automatically add coins to birthdays and/or work anniversaries. Birthdays are a fixed coin amount, while work anniversaries coin amounts can be customized based on the year of service.
Celebration Visibility
By default, celebrations are publicly celebrated in the Matter-connected channel. You can adjust your celebration visibility to one of the following options:
Celebrate Publicly (Recommended): Coins are sent with a public message.
Celebrate Privately: Coins are sent with a private message.
Do Not Celebrate: No coins or messages are sent.
