Groups allow you to organize, manage, and empower your organization. By creating and managing groups, sub-groups, and group managers, you can structure your organization within Matter and give managers valuable access to data insights.

By using groups, you can:

  • Reflect your organizational structure within Matter for more accurate data insights.

  • Empower managers with access to their group's analytics, allowing them to track performance and engagement.

  • Filter data like recognition, rewards, and surveys by group or sub-group to uncover valuable insights.

Sub-Groups and Group Managers

Groups can be broken down into sub-groups, allowing for more granular management within larger teams or departments. For example, you might have a main department group and sub-groups for different teams within that department.

You can also assign group managers. These managers will:

  • Have access to analytics and insights for only their assigned group(s).

  • Be empowered to monitor and analyze key data about their team’s performance, recognition, rewards, and survey results.

This gives each manager control over their own group's data, helping them make informed decisions and drive improvements within their teams.

Rule-Based Groups

When creating a group, you can specify the members of the group based on Matter member properties. Similar to member segments, you can combine multiple properties using AND or OR logic:

  • AND Logic: Use this to include members who meet all the selected criteria. For example, you can segment employees who are in the marketing department AND were hired after a certain date.

  • OR Logic: Use this to include members who meet at least one of the selected criteria. For instance, you can segment employees who are either in the marketing department OR the sales department.

This flexibility allows you to build complex groups based on multiple criteria. For example, you can create a group of managers and assign them a specific custom coin allowance.

Syncing with HRIS

For added convenience, you can map groups directly to your HRIS platform, ensuring your groups are always up-to-date and synced with your organization's internal data. This makes managing groups and assigning managers seamless and efficient.
