Custom Rewards are perks and experiences your company fulfills directly. Because your team handles fulfillment, there's no added cost to offer them, which makes them a flexible way to recognize people with whatever fits your culture.

Fun experiences. Lunch with the CEO, a VIP parking spot, or a team lunch.
Time off. An extra vacation day or an early finish on Friday.
Internal giving. Pool coins toward a company donation.

How to add a Custom Reward
Open the Web App.
Go to Rewards Manager, then Company Store.
Click Add Reward.
Select Custom Reward, then click Continue.
On the Create step, fill in the details:
Title: The reward name employees see.
Description: A short note on what the reward includes (optional).
Coin Value: The number of coins employees redeem it for (10 coins = $1).
Quantity Available: Choose Unlimited quantity, or select Amount in stock and set a specific number of redemptions.
Images: Add up to 5 images. The first image is the cover that employees see first, and you'll crop each one to a square after uploading. Great for showing a product from multiple angles or in different colors.
Feature this reward: Toggle on to highlight it in the store.
Reward Approved Message: The note employees get when their redemption is approved. Matter adds a default you can edit. Use {reward} for the reward name and {approver} for the approver's name.
Click Continue to move to the Options step.
Adding options (size, color, and more)
The Options step lets you ask employees a question when they redeem — like size or color — so they choose once and you can fulfill faster. Options are optional: if you don't need any, just click Continue.
To add one:
Click + Add Option.
Choose an Option Type:
Multiple Choice. Give employees a set list to pick from. Enter a Question (e.g., "Size") and add your Choices (e.g., S, M, L). Click Add Choice to add more — up to 10 choices per question.
Text. Let employees type a free-form response — useful for things like engraving text, a shipping address, or a special request.
Toggle Make question required on if employees must answer before redeeming.
Need more than one question? Click + Add Option again to add another (for example, one option for size and a second for color). Use Delete to remove an option.
When you're done, click Continue.
Review and save
On the Review step, confirm the details — title, description, value, quantity, featured status, number of images, and number of options. If anything needs a change, step back using the breadcrumb at the top. When everything looks right, click Save Reward. Your reward is added to the Company Store and available to redeem right away.
What employees see in the store
When an employee opens your reward in the Company Store, they'll see your images and description, and they'll be prompted to answer any options you added before redeeming. For example, they might select a size from buttons or type a response into a text field. Their answers are included with the redemption request so you have everything you need to fulfill it.
Custom Rewards have no added cost to your company. You set the coin value employees redeem them for, and because your team fulfills the reward directly, there's nothing extra to pay. When someone redeems one, you'll get the request to approve and fulfill.
