If you haven't already, you'll first need to add Matter to your Slack workspace. Then you'll need to add Matter to a Slack channel - either new or existing, public or private channel. We recommend watching our Matter Installation for Slack video guide.
Option 1: Add Matter to Existing Public/Private Channel
Go to the existing public/private channel.
Type
@MatterBotinstall into the channel.Slack will prompt you to invite MatterBot to the channel. Hit Invite Them.
Once invited successfully, MatterBot will send a welcome kudos in the channel.
Option 2: Create a New Matter Channel
Inside Slack, go to Apps > MatterBot
In the Home tab, click the New Matter Channel button.
Name your channel (e.g., #matter, #kudos).
Add people to the channel.
Note: You can add individual members or select an entire existing channel that will add all members of that channel.
Click Next and the channel will be set up.
Option 3: Add Matter to Existing Public Channel
Inside Slack, go to Apps > MatterBot
In the Home tab, click the New Matter Channel button.
Select Use existing channel instead button.
In the drop-down, select an existing public channel.
Click Next and MatterBot will be added to the channel.
Once added successfully, MatterBot will send a welcome kudos in the channel.
