The MVP is picked at random from the people who gave the most kudos that period and the people who received the most.

Who can win MVP

You can win if you:

Everyone else can't win that period.

Alex and Jordan each have a 50/50 chance. Taylor and Morgan can't win this week.

Alex, Jordan, and Taylor each have a 1 in 3 chance.

Alex has two chances and Jordan has one, so Alex is twice as likely to win.

Alex gave the most but was MVP recently, so Jordan is the only person who can win.

Both top people were recent winners, so Matter picks at random from everyone who gave or received kudos. Taylor and Morgan each have a 50/50 chance.

Ties: If people tie for the most, they can all win.
No repeat winners: If you've been MVP in the last 4 recaps, you sit out.
Both lists: If you gave the most and received the most, you get two chances instead of one.
Backup rule: If everyone who could win was a recent winner, Matter picks at random from everyone who gave or received any kudos that period instead.
Exclusions: Admins can exclude specific members from being MVP.

Does giving lots of kudos help me win? Only if it makes you the person who gave the most. Being second doesn't mean you can win.
Can the same person win every week? No. After you're MVP, you sit out the next 4 recaps.
What about the other recap awards? "Most kudos received" and "Most kudos given" go to whoever has the highest count, and ties all win. These are straight counts, so the same person can win them week after week. The no-repeat rule only applies to MVP.
