Managing spot awards

Learn how to edit, duplicate, turn on or off, delete, and rename Matter Spot Awards.

Written by Brett Hellman

Admins manage every spot award from Awards Manager, then Spot Awards, in the Matter Web App, and the program itself from Settings, then Spot Awards.

💡 New to Matter Spot Awards? Start with the Spot Awards Guide. Spot Awards work the same way in Slack, Microsoft Teams, and the Web App, even if your workspace uses its own name, like Hero Award.

Manage Spot Awards

  1. Open the Web App.

  2. Go to Awards Manager, then the Spot Awards section.

For each award you'll see:

  • Active: Turn an award on or off. Only active awards can be given.

  • Name and image.

  • Coin Reward: coins per recipient.

  • Coin Budget: coins used across all Award Managers, or No Limit.

Click ⋮ next to an award to:

  • Edit: Change the title, image, message, coins, budgets, or Award Managers.

  • Duplicate: Make a copy to start from. The copy is named with (Copy) and starts turned off.

  • Delete: Remove the award for good. Award Managers can no longer give it. Awards already given stay in Reports, and recipients keep their coins.

Rename Spot Awards

Give the program a name that fits your culture, like Hero Award.

  1. Go to Settings, then Spot Awards.

  2. Under Customize Awards Program Name, enter a singular name, like Hero Award.

  3. Check the preview, then click Save.

The new name replaces Spot Awards across Slack/Teams messages, notifications, and the Web App. Click Reset to default to go back.

Turn Spot Awards on or off

  • Turn on: Go to Awards Manager, then Spot Awards, and click Enable Awards.

  • Turn off: Go to Settings, then Spot Awards, and click Disable.
